MSP Testing Continues
MSP testing at A.J. West continues this coming week. Fourth grade will be taking the reading MSP assessment on Wednesday, May 22. Please make sure students are present and on time for testing days. Make sure students get plenty of rest and have a good breakfast.
Fifth and Sixth Grades are Going to Camp!
Fifth and sixth graders will be going to Camp Bishop Monday for the Outdoor Science Education Program. Students will arrive for school at the regular time on Monday. They will return Thursday afternoon.
Fundraiser Winners Announced
The winners for the A.J. West PTSO coupon book sales have been announced. The top seller was Sarah Harder. The second place winner was Cai Bui. In the class competition, Miss Sjostrand’s class took the honors for top sales.
After-School Activities Come to a Close
Power Hour and After-School Activities have come to a conclusion. Yesterday marked the last day of the After-School Program for the rest of the school year.
Please Check Out Our Lost and Found!
Parents, in the upcoming days, we will be putting our Lost and Found items on a table in the hallway behind the office. Please come in and check it out for those items your child may be missing. All items not claimed will be sent to charity after the last day of school.
MSP Tutorials Available Online
MSP tutorials are now available online for students and parents at http://www.k12.wa.us/Assessment/StateTesting/OnlineTesting.aspx. Parents and students can go on and see what the test items look like, and take the tutorials.
Visitors Must Check in with the Office
Parents, if you are accompanying your child into breakfast in the morning, you must check in with the office to get a visitor’s pass. For the security of our students, all visitors throughout the day must check in with the office and obtain a pass. Also, visitors must enter through the main front doors.
On-Time Student Arrival
Parents, there has been an unusual number of students arriving for school late. School begins promptly at 8:35 AM every morning. Please make sure that students are here before the bell. All late students will be marked tardy. Unless you have sent a note, have called, or have brought the student in, the tardy must be marked unexcused. It is important to your child’s education that he or she is in school, and missing time from school is counterproductive to his or her academic success. Absences must be excused, as well. Parents may call in to excuse absences at 360-538-2130.
