CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:

PROMPT: I am sitting in my seat when the bell rings.                                 

      What does this look like?

  • I am sitting quietly in my assigned seat.
  • My assignment, math book, pencil, pen, and paper are out on my desk.
  • I have my pencil-to-paper working on my warm-up task.

PREPARED: I have all my materials and ready to learn.

     What do I need everyday?

  • Pencil and blue pen
  • Math binder with book inside
  • A super attitude…"I am ready to learn”

POSITIVE: What I think, say and do are always positive.

     What are some things I can think?

  • Math can be difficult, and I can do difficult things!
  • I will have success.

What are some things I say?

  • "I can learn this!" or "I can do this!"
  • "Math is great!"

What are some things I can do?

  • Support other students
  • Raise my hand and participate
  • Use my resources for support

POLITE: I show respect with my face, voice, and words.

     What does this look like?

  • I smile.
  • My tone of voice is respectful.
  • My words are polite and respectful.

PRODUCTIVE: I'm on-task and learning all of the time.

     What does this look like?

  • I'm focused on my math learning.
  • When Mr. Hendrickson is talking, I'm actively listening.
  • When we have group work, we only talk about math.

 

CLASS PROCEDURES:

SHARPENING YOUR PENCIL:

·       At an appropriate time, before class, (when Mr. Hendrickson isn't instructing) you can take the "shortest route" to the sharpener or better yet, use your hand-held sharpener.

YOU FORGOT SOMETHING:

·       Pencil/Pen: BEFORE class, quietly find one, borrow one or trade your ASB card, and borrow one from the pencil /pen container.

·       Binder: Ask a neighbor for a sheet of paper. Then put it into the appropriate section of your binder later.

·       Book: You can share with a neighbor appropriately and quietly.

BATHROOM/DRINKING FOUNTAIN:

·       Use the restroom and fountain during passing time. You may ask me at an appropriate time if there is an emergency. Your agenda will be your pass after I sign it.

YOU FINISHED EARLY:

·       Quietly work on missing, absent, or extra credit assignments. 

·       Quietly organize your binder.

·       Quietly work on other class work.

·       Quietly read your AR book.

AT THE END OF CLASS:

·       Clean your area, desk and floor. Return all borrowed materials. Straighten desks and wait quietly to be excused.

·       Throw trash away on your way out of the classroom.

·       Write all assignments in your agenda.

·       Remember- Mr. Hendrickson will dismiss you not the bell!

COLLECTING ABSENT WORK:

·       It is your responsibility to collect your absent worksheet(s) from the cubbies. All assignments are listed on the board.
