- A. Making contributions to group efforts &endash; I will participate as a member of a team or student organization.
B. Teaching others new skills &endash; I will volunteer at a school, church or other place of learning to help teach a skill to others.
C. Accepting leadership roles &endash; I will assume a leadership role in one of the organizations I choose to join. In this role, I will communicate my ideas to justify my position, responsibly challenge present practices I think could be improved, and present ideas for improving my organization.
D. Serving others in the community &endash; I will accept a community service project and complete it to the satisfaction of my teacher or supervisor.
E. Negotiating with others &endash; I will take time to learn how to negotiate with others, and I will attempt to work toward agreements involving the exchange of resources, the solution of problems, and resolving divergent interests.
F. Working with people from diverse backgrounds &endash; I will learn about other cultures and respect people who come from backgrounds different from mine. I will work well with people of all ages and backgrounds, as well as those who are physically and/or mentally challenged.
- A. Reading &endash; I will demonstrate that my reading skills are adequate for me to succeed in the education and/or training I may seek after high school. I will be able to locate, understand, and interpret information in books of prose and in technical documents such as manuals, graphs and schedules.
B. Writing &endash; I will demonstrate that my writing skills are adequate for me to succeed in the education and/or training I may seek after high school. I will be able to communicate in writing my thoughts and ideas as well as information I may want to share in letters, reports, graphs and other formats.
C. Arithmetic/Mathematics &endash; I will demonstrate that my mathematical skills are adequate for me to succeed in the education and/or training I may seek after high school. I will be able to perform basic computations and solve practical problems by choosing appropriate mathematical techniques.
- A. Computer literacy &endash; I will know how to operate a computer; use its keyboard; load software; use three specific software programs, including one word processing one; and print reports
B. Selecting Technology &endash; I will be able to choose appropriate procedures software, equipment (including computers), and other tools that may be available to me.
C. Applying technology to the task &endash; I will be able to set up, operate and follow appropriate procedures to make the equipment I select serve the task at hand.
D. Maintaining and troubleshooting equipment &endash; I will be able to provide basic maintenance to computers and other technologies and identify and solve basic problems with the equipment.
THE PROMISES:
B. Beginning in my 7th grade year to provide a system to help me record my progress in fulfilling the promises I have made in this contract.
C. Beginning in my 9th grade year to provide a teacher and the other assistance I will need to choose, develop, and complete my community service project.
B. To grant me college credits for coursework I complete and skills I achieve in high school that are determined to be equivalent to courses and skills taught at the college.
C. To grant me a scholarship from the Grays Harbor College Foundation in recognition of my achievements as a World Class Scholar and to provide other financial aid I may need to attend Grays Harbor College.
