A Tour of A. J. West Elementary School

This is the front of the building with bricks and columns. It has a door, flowers, trees, and a new bike rack. It also has 2 flags. One is the Washington flag and American flag.

The baseball field is used to play baseball, football, frisbee and kickball. On sunny days a lot of kids like to play tag, catch, and baseball on the field. We like to have fun on there.

The gym is a big area for P.E. and lunch. It has five basketball hoops and smells good because the kitchen is close by. The gym has all kinds of different equipment for P.E. games.

The office is where the secretary, the principal and other people work. In the office the secretary takes the messages that parents and other people send to the school. When kids get hurt and the nurse is not there, the secretary puts bandades on kids.

The playground is fun to play on with " The Big Toy". It has three slides stuck together. Kids play tag, hot lava tag, play jump rope, kick ball, running games and line tag on the playground.

This is our school kitchen. There are three helpers and sometimes they have student helpers. They fix us breakfast and lunch.

The library is a very nice place. Kids come to check out books. It is burgundy and blue and has a big skylight. It has computers, color printers, and big plants. The library is a nice place to work and read.

Covered area is a good place to play catch, soccer, basketball, and football. The covered area keeps us dry from rain. It is surrounded by gates and it is also called the bird cage.

The classrooms all have TVs, phones, white boards, computers, desks and a water fountain in them. The teachers are very nice. Each morning we have an annoucement on the television from the studio to show the news and what is on the menu for the day.
