The Parade!

Finally! The BIG Day arrived! Teachers, students and staff returned to McDermoth School in style on January 4, 1999.

The parade began at Aberdeen High School where McDermoth has been living for the past 18 months. Students packed up their supplies and books and began the march to their new school!

The McDermoth School Band marched and played.

Former sixth grade students even accompanied us.

Aberdeen Fire Department led the parade with their truck.

The event also included the D.A.R.E. van, a Ford built in 1930 (when McDermoth was first built) and a 1999 Ford.

Past teachers and staff of the school and other special dignitaries were invited. An assembly was held in the school gym to welcome everyone home and to celebrate!

The special guests were introduced. Aberdeen School District superintendent, Karen Koschak, welcomed everyone to the event. We saw a video and these web pages showing the changes that occurred over the past few months.
