Greetings,
On behalf of all of our staff and myself I want to welcome you back for the 2012-13 school year and to the Aberdeen High School website. We look forward to working with each of you, your parents and our community to meet the challenge of maintaining our strong tradition of excellence in academics, activities and athletics that Aberdeen High School is known for.
The beginning of a school year is always exciting. This will be our sixth year in our facility and we are both discovering what an outstanding school building it is! However, schools are more than brick and mortar structures; it is the students and the staff which make it a great school. Aberdeen is such a place with great students and staff.
At Aberdeen High School we provide the opportunity for all students to develop and learn the skills necessary to be successful in college and the world of work. AHS offers a rich array of academic classes as well as many career and technical classes which allow for career exploration as well as certification in these areas.
I would like to remind everyone of the personal responsibility which each one of us must demonstrate in order to make the most of the educational opportunity we have. High standards and expecting excellence in all we do, putting people first and creating a positive environment where people want to be everyday set the tone for an incredible school year, we are all responsible for making this happen.
We will work very hard to provide support for every student at AHS to assist them in overcoming challenges and to take full advantage of the opportunities and the possibilities which will help you develop the skills necessary for you to be successful in the future.
This website is designed to help provide information through your years at AHS. We hope that you will use it and to help clarify questions which you might have. I know that you too will demonstrate Bobcat Pride everyday and make the most of the educational opportunities available to you at AHS.
