Miller Junior High welcomes the return of National Junior Honor Society!
Miller Junior High has reapplied to the National Junior Honor Society organization. We will hear shortly from the organization as to whether we can reactivate this amazing and worthwhile student activity for our Miller students. National Junior Honor Society is a nationally recognized organization which promotes enthusiasm for scholarship, creates a desire for community service, fosters student leadership, and develops character in students.
Membership in this organization is an honor bestowed on a student. Student selection is made by a Faculty Council and is based on scholarship, character, leadership, and service. The minimum scholastic requirement is a 3.0 (or B) average.
Once our status as a chapter is confirmed, our current 8th grade students will be given the opportunity to apply for membership. Once the students are selected, the members will elect student officers. These officers will work together to complete and revise the Miller Junior High’s National Junior Honor Society Charter/Constitution. These officers will create the induction ceremony for the new 8th grade members.
Our current 7th graders will be given the opportunity to apply for membership second semester. National Junior Honor Society requires that our 7th graders complete a semester of attendance and grades before applying.
Please watch for upcoming information on the application process for students.
We are excited to welcome our two faculty advisors, Tricia Matisons and Heather Colwell.
