Miller Junior High School

 

        My name is Jolene Powell, and I teach 6th grade English and the Games elective.  This is my 25th year in education!  I earned my Bachelor's Degree in 1997 from Western Washington University, and I later earned my Master's Degree in 2002 from Grand Canyon University.  I achieved National Board Certification in Early/Middle Childhood Literacy in 2006 and recertified in 2015.  In March 2019 I completed my Special Education Endorsement through Seattle Pacific University.

     When I'm not at school, I'm busy with my family and pets.  My daughter graduated from Aberdeen and attends WSU--GO COUGS!  My son attends Aberdeen High School. When I'm not at school, I can be found on local trails and enjoying the PNW life!  I truly love our schools and community.
