As COVID-19 cases continue to grow, students are faced with continuing their learning from a distance. Aberdeen School District is using the Canvas learning management system as a common platform for all students to access learning at a distance. These classrooms will be monitored daily and attendance will be taken. Grading has reverted back to pre-COVID grading standards so it will be important for your child to stay connected and engaged in his or her education. Your student(s) will have a classroom tile with their general education classroom teacher as well as their resource teacher, music teacher, and other teachers.

    It is important that students stay connected and keep engaging in their learning during this difficult time. Many of the activities will be fun and focused on maintaining contact. Others will allow them opportunities to practice what we have already learned as well as new instruction.

    PLEASE make sure that your child's teachers have your current cell phone and email address(es) so we can stay in touch. Teachers are using student emails, parent emails and Canvas to keep in touch with students and families. However, this requires accurate home information.

    Students on my caseload have the following educational learning opportunities available to them:

    * Imagine Learning Language & Literacy
    * Imagine Math
    * Raz-Kids (reading)
    * Vizzle (math and ELA)
    * Khan Academy (math)
    * IXL (math and ELA)
    * Moby Max (variety of content areas such as reading, writing, math, phonics, social studies, science, vocabulary, spelling, etc.)
    * Spelling City

    If students do not have their login information, please contact me via email at dfillo@asd5.org or send a message through Canvas.
