    Hello Preschool Families:

     I hope this email finds you well during these uncertain times.   I sure miss seeing and hugging each of your kiddos!

     The Aberdeen School District has been working diligently this past week to set up meal programs, programs for staff, and acclimating to working from home.   I am inspired by the leadership, knowledge, and support of the administration, my colleagues, families, and the community.  We are on a journey into unchartered waters but we will be successful together.  

     Many of you probably already received the district digital newsletter with the following information.  If not, let me know and I will forward the letter to you.  The e-newsletter will be sent out weekly on Thursdays.

    Important programs available to all families:

    1.  Free breakfast and lunch "Grab 'n Go" program.  Park locations available from 10 AM - noon Monday through Friday and additional sites begin today via bus drop off.  Meals for Saturday and Sunday will be provided for pick-up during the Friday mealtime. All children and youth under the age of 18, and enrolled students over 18, are eligible to receive meals at no charge. ID is not required and there are no forms to fill out.

    Lunch and breakfast are being provided to each student. The meals are designed to be picked up and eaten at a different location to encourage social distancing. Adults may pick up the meals, but they must be accompanied by their students.  Here is the link to the ASD website with the outlined schedule of locations.

          2.  The ability to connect to the internet is essential and will allow us to share resources, communicate, etc.  Please share this information with friends who may need it.  Free WiFi is available.  At some district locations, wifi may be accessible from parking lots that are located close to the school building.

     The Hopkins staff is currently devising a plan of how to continue supporting our kiddos and families in a digital/online format.   Stay tuned as we develop this plan further this week!   Let us know what supports, frustrations, and needs you have.  Communication is a high priority with our families and students.  We have included a link to a book that you can read to your child that helps explain why we are unable to attend school now.
