Hello Robert Gray families!  I am Jamie Dunn, your new Principal.  I am so excited to have the opportunity to serve you: the students, families, and community of Robert Gray.  The staff, students, and families of Robert Gray are those of the best in the district, and I am so lucky to be the new Principal!

Why do I do what I do?  KIDS!  I am truly blessed to be able to work with kids every day.  It is my belief that with encouragement and support, ALL kids can achieve their goals and dreams.  The path that each child takes will be different, and that's awesome!  Each child is an individual, and I believe it is our job as teachers, administrators, parents, and families to support and foster their individuality.  In the words of Dr. Seuss, "Why fit in when you can stand out!"

I was born and raised in Hoquiam.  I attended school in the Hoquiam School District, and graduated high school in 1994.  I continued my education at Grays Harbor Community College, and received an Associates of Arts Degree.  During my attendance at GHC, I enrolled in the Washington State University long-distance learning program, and earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education.  I began teaching 3rd grade at Washington Elementary in Hoquiam, and continued my teaching career for 15 years.  I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th and several split grade level classes.  I earned my Masters of Education in Curriculum Development from the University of New England.  Four years ago, I decided that I wanted to do more than teach, I wanted to LEAD!  I took a position as the Dean of Students at Central School in Hoquiam, and enrolled in an advanced education program to earn my administration credentials.  Last year, I was offered a position in the Aberdeen School District as the Assistant Principal at Stevens Elementary.  This leads me to now--Principal at Robert Gray!

I am engaged to my best friend, Damon, and together we make a family of five.  My son, Walker, attends Perry Technical Institute in Yakima and my daughter, ReyLynn, is a senior at Hoquiam High School.  I have a soon to be step-son, Noah, that is a third grader in the Aberdeen District.

When not at school, I am most likely attending sports events for my children!  Three sport high school athletes take a lot of time!  My favorite hobbies are running and drag racing!

I look forward to meeting each of you!  Please stop in and say hello when you get a chance!
