Hello! My Name is Mary Mainio. I am one of the Assistant Principals at Aberdeen High School this year. Prior to obtaining my Administrative Certification from Saint Martin University last year, I was Dean of Students here at the high school and a school counselor for 13 years. I had the opportunity to be a school counselor at all grade levels, with the majority of my time spent at the high school level. I enjoy watching students decide where they want to go in life and become productive members of society. A little bit about me: I was raised in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1995. I grew up in Central Park and come from a family of teachers. I went to WSU and received my degree in Human Development and attended City University where I received my Masters in Education in School Counseling. I have 3 students in the Aberdeen School District, and believe Aberdeen is a great school district and a wonderful place to raise kids. In my spare time, I enjoy taking my kids to sports activities, working out, watching football and hanging out with friends and family. I believe that all students deserve a chance to be successful and can do anything they want with the proper support and encouragement. I look forward to serving the students and families at Aberdeen High School in my new role.
