Welcome to the world of Mr. Theonnes! I am one of the new assistant principals at Aberdeen High School.
I grew up in Redmond, Washington, played basketball at Bellevue Community College which led to me moving to Alaska. While playing basketball at Alaska Pacific University I met my future wife, Pearl. We both graduated from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. We began our teaching career in rural Alaska above the Arctic Circle in the village where my wife was raised… Noorvik.
I became an administrator in 2002 at West Anchorage High School. Over the next 14 years I worked at West, Dimond, and South Anchorage high schools as an assistant Principal. My adventures then took me to Unalakleet, Alaska and on to Nome, Alaska, where I was an Elementary Principal and then retired from Education.
Over the past 5 years I have worked at the Alaska Job Corps Center and most recently I was the Executive Director of the Council of Athabascan Tribal Governments.
I have a passion for working with young adults as they find their path in the world. The world is an amazing place and every person has the opportunity to make their world whatever they choose. There are no limits to what you can achieve if you are willing to work hard and sacrifice.
I am active and love all sports. I am looking forward to being a Bobcat and supporting all of our students in whatever pursuit they choose to pursue.
Go Big Blue!
