Hello and welcome to fifth grade.

I am very excited to continue teaching fifth grade teacher this year.  For the past 13 years I have taught here at McDermoth Elementary and before I was a substitute teacher for a year and a half.

Upon graduating from Aberdeen High School, I chose to attend Grays Harbor Community College where I received an Associate of Arts Degree in General Studies and an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.

In 1999 I ventured to Pullman, Washington to pursue a degree in Elementary Education.  I enjoyed I my time in Pullman and the program at Washington State University was great but I was ready to come back to Grays Harbor.  I student taught at McDermoth in 2001 and was then hired in 2003.

While working at McDermoth I have continued my education by receiving my Professional Teaching Certificate from Seattle Pacific University.  I have also been a member of many committees through Aberdeen School District that have also added to my breadth of knowledge.  I am excited to begin the implementation of AVID into our elementary schools.  For more information regarding AVID, check out www.avid.org

I look forward to a fantastic year!
