Mrs. Templeton was born in Spokane, Washington. She graduated from EWU with a major in English and a minor in mathematics, later earning her master's degree in educational technology from City University. Mrs. Templeton has taught elementary school since 1989. Her first teaching job was in Hailey, Idaho, but she moved to Aberdeen in 1992. She first taught REACH (highly capable) at Alexander Young Elementary School before teaching grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. McDermoth has been her school home since A. Young closed in 2006.
