I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Central Washington University in 1992. I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in the Creative Arts in Education from Lesley University in 2001. I have worked for the Aberdeen School District since the 1993-1994 school year. I taught elementary band and general music in my first year and have taught general music since the 1994-1995 school year.
I am an elementary general music specialist and completely believe that the younger children are when they are exposed to music education (I sang to my children before they were born and sing to my grandchildren whenever I can), the more they will benefit their entire lives. I also believe the old proverb from Africa: If you can talk, you can sing. If you can walk, you can dance.
