I grew up in Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1995. From there I attended Grays Harbor Community College and transferred to Saint Martin's where I earned my BA in elementary and special education with endorsements in early childhood education and history in 1999. After graduating from college I married my high school sweetheart and we started our family. I went back to school again and earned my Masters from Lesley University in 2004 and in 2010 became National Board Certified in Early Childhood Education. I have been teaching at Stevens since 2008, and before that I was at Hopkins since 2001.
