How long have you been working at Hopkins and how long in education?
I have been at Hopkins since 1991 and working in education for 36 years.
Where did you grow up and how long have you lived in this area?
I grew up in Browns Point, Tacoma. I now live in Hoquiam.
Who was your favorite teacher and why?
Mrs. Palmerston because she sat us in a big circle like a family and we took "flying lessons" to learn cursive writing.
What do you enjoy about working with preschoolers and their families?
The hugs and smiles, seeing their excitement about learning, doing new things or playing with something new. Watching children learn and grow. Seeing how happy parents are to see their children learn and grow.
What do you do when you are not at school?
I like to read, watch movies, go to our cabin and eat out.
What is something that never fails to make you laugh or smile?
My two pugs, Biscotti and Trigger.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
That more hand could appear if needed and I could eat whatever I want and not gain weight.
