  • New Mask Mandate

With the new, expanded mask mandate now in effect, this is a reminder that masks are required at any event with 500 or more attendees. This would include all AHS Varsity Football games.

    Thank you

  • Parking Changes Parent Drop-Off Zone: We are asking that parents drop off students on 4th & H Street by the covered walkway, this will allow the busses to pull in smoothly and keep your children safe while walking across the street.

There is NO DROP OFF or PARKING in the bus zone! Violators may be ticketed and/or towed.

AHS Student Parking is located in the lot at the corner of I Street and Third Street. This parking lot houses our infamous Spirit Rock.

Staff Parking locations  are located at the South End of AHS and across the street from the main entrance of AHS (along G Street). Students parked in those area's between 6:30am-4:00pm will be towed.

Rotary Student of the Month

  • Congratulations to Sarai Vega Leon. She is the Aberdeen Rotary Club’s Student of the Month for October.  An honor student at AHS who carries a grade-point average of 3.829, Sarai wants to be a nurse. She is completing the CNA program through the Twin Harbors Skills Center, which is “an amazing feat that takes a lot of dedication and perseverance,” according to Rotary. “She is a natural caregiver and she has a deep connection to culture, family and community.”

Sarai is the daughter of Roberto and Alejandra Vega Leon. She has taken Medical Terminology through AHS and has earned college credit. She also has her nursing assistant license through the Professional Medical Careers program at the Skills Center. Sarai says her hospital training helped show her that she has chosen the right career path. “During clinical, I was able to experience the healthcare field and I enjoyed helping those in need. Witnessing the smiles on their faces made me feel like this was my job.”

Sarai also describes one of her first experiences helping a family that didn’t understand or speak English. “I thought of my parents and all of the millions of Latinos who don't understand or speak English in the United States. Seeing the family smile with joy because I, as a bilingual CNA student, became the voice for them made me feel grateful for the opportunity to serve and helped me understand the need for bilinguals in hospital settings,” she said.

Sarai plans to attend Saint Martin University to earn her bachelor’s of science degree in nursing and minor in Spanish She wants to be a registered nurse working in Emergency or Labor & Delivery.

In addition to training for her career, Sarai is also the Yearbook layout editor, a World Class Scholar and takes part in Outdoor School, Link Crew, HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and volunteers at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Aberdeen High School has a long-standing tradition of excellence in both academics and athletics.  Bobcat graduates have successfully contributed to society in many fields. It is a tradition that our community can, and should, be proud of. As our world, and the challenges facing it grow increasingly more complex, the demands placed upon AHS students have increased significantly. The faculty is dedicated to helping our students gain the skills to meet these challenges. The task isn't easy but is incredibly important.

The Mission of AHS is to create an environment that allows all people involved the maximum opportunity to learn, grow, and experience success.

We hope the information found on this web page will be helpful as we all strive for that success.
