12/08/22 Canine Search Aberdeen Schools

Good Morning, HLC Families,

This morning, with the assistance of local law enforcement agencies, our school conducted a canine search for illegal substances in classrooms. The school was put into a modified lockdown to ensure the safety of students and all involved. The lockdown was not the result of a threat or safety concern.

The dogs were assisted by their law enforcement handlers, and they inspected classrooms throughout the building, while students continued with their studies in their classrooms or in the hallway.

The staff at the Harbor Learning Center conducted the search today in an effort to continue to work to keep harmful substances out of our school and away from our students, and to provide a clear message that illegal substances are not welcome and will not be tolerated in our school.
