Moving Up Assembly TIME CHANGE- 

8TH graders, if your family is watching the assembly live in the webinar, the time has changed to allow for another school to also broadcast their assembly that day.

The assembly webinar will begin at 8:40 AM and end by 10:10 AM.

Remember, the assembly consists of 2 pre recorded videos that we watch together. 

The videos will be available on the website later that day for families to view if they could not watch the webinar.

“In School” Supply Bins (the ones you carry around during the school day)-

  • Grade 8 turned in the calculator from bin and took bin home with its contents on Monday, 6/14

  • Grade 6 and 7 will clean out bins TODAY 6/15 and leave at school for potential use next year

(Clean out Bins: 1) remove school calculator and give to teacher, 2) throw any trash in bin away, 3) throw away any supplies that can not be used like broken pencils, etc 3) take out any personal items that belong to student) 4) return any school owned item that unexpectedly turned up there 5) Make sure name - First and last is clearly visible)

Parent and Guardian Pick Up TODAY on the Last Day of School- Early Dismissal!

On Tuesday, June 15, MJH is dismissed at 11:00 AM.

Grade 6 10:40 AM  In the front of school as usual

Grade 7  10:55 AM  In the front as usual

Grade 8 11:00 In the back of school AFTER the busses leave

Busses arrive starting at 10:30 for all bus students.  Walkers will be released at 10:55

Grade 8 family picking up a 6th or 7th grader, too?  Have them wait to leave until Walkers are released and join you in the back of the school.

8th Grade Girls Swim-

Coaches were here on Thursday 6/10 to meet with students and did a Zoom for Distance Learners.  The season starts on August 23.  Questions?  You can contact the coach at tmontoure@asd5.org

July 5-July 30th Monday through Friday from 1:15-2:15 Open Swim at the YMCA (it’s Free!  For Grades 7-12 boys and girls!)

8th Graders- AHS Soccer Info

 If you are interested in playing soccer at AHS, a summer calendar was emailed out to you on Monday 6/7  for open fields and AHS soccer camp.  If you have questions about playing soccer in the Fall email Coach Fleming (lfleming@asd5.org).

8th Grade Girls- Volleyball Info

The coach was here on Tuesday June 8 and handed out information.  Mrs. Stover here at MJH has copies of the info handed out.  Questions about high school volleyball?  Email the coach at dglanz@asd5.org   

  1. There are still some spots at volleyball camp.  It is June 22-23 9 AM to Noon and costs $100 to attend.

  2. Open Volleyball court every Tuesday starting June 8- June 29th at the high school from 4-6 PM

  3. August 2-6 Pick up your sports paperwork at the high school (this will include being scheduled for Impact Testing)

  4. August 23- first day of Fall sports at the high school

YMCA Free Swim Opportunity Boys and Girls Grade 7-12

July 5-July 30th Monday through Friday from 1:15-2:15 Open Swim at the YMCA (it’s Free!  For Grades 7-12 boys and girls!)  This is an opportunity for future, incoming, and current high school swimmers to practice and condition together before the start of the swim season.  

 Return Band and Orchestra Instruments 

All school owned instruments are due back to MJH by June 11. If you want me to save the instrument for you to play next year, please put a note in the case that says “save for next year and your name”. If you have a school instrument that you are not using right now, please turn it in as soon as possible.

If you are coming in person, you may bring them into the music room before advisory OR drop them off in the office before school.

If you are a distance learner, you must return school instruments to the office during office hours. Please avoid drop off and pick up times as that is the busiest time of the day.

If you are renting an instrument from Ted Brown and need to return it, please have a parent or guardian call Ted Brown at (800) 562-8938 to arrange a pick up. Please do not bring a rental instrument to the office before arranging a pick up! If you are playing next year, please keep your rental over the summer if possible!

Attention 8th graders

Band camp will take place August 16th-20th from 9:00am to 4:00pm at AHS. At band camp, we will start by learning the basics of marching and build to an entire parade routine over the span of a week with team building and FABULOUS prizes along the way. NO PREVIOUS BAND EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED! We would love to have you come and try it out, even just for one day. Feeling nervous? Bring a friend! There is no shortage of space, equipment, or helpful leaders. 



All library books were due on June 1st, class novels and textbooks were due by June 11th. 

Please remember to bring your chromebook and charger on the last day of school so that you can return it! 


Did you check out a MIFI Hotspot? Please return it with the charger in the original box on the last day of school.


Students are now able to log-in to the Timberland Regional Library with their Student ID. Students will use their nine digit Student ID number + MMYYYY(birthdate) as their log-in, and their password will be their month and day of birth(MMDD).

example: student whose ID is 123456789 and birthdate is January 1, 2008 will have a log-in of 123456789012008 and password of 0101.

There is still time to sign up for the Extended Learning Opportunity!

Extended Learning Program Opportunity for 6th and 7th graders July 6th-August 13th

It’s a 5-week summer session to prepare students for the upcoming school year.  The program will offer arts, STEM, English, Math, and PNW classes.  Students will be able to take two classes per day.  Please go to our MJH website under Great Things @ Miller for more information.

8th grade students

Aberdeen High School is offering Two summer sessions for credit retrieval for the upcoming school year, and an extended learning experience to support academic learning and growth.  They are also offering math for Summer School to our 8th graders. It is an Algebra Readiness class so you can go straight into Algebra next year. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Roiko at 360-538-2051 or email at aroiko@asd5.org.

School Office Hours

The MJH Office will close for the summer on June 25th and not reopen until August 18!

We have one evening chromebook drop off time:

June 21 6:30-7:30 PM

The MJH Office is open Monday- Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Even though we have returned students to in person learning, parents/guardians are still not allowed inside the building. You can access service by ringing the bell and waiting. All support is provided through the service window to the outside. Please wear a mask. You can also call the main office at (360) 538-2100. A secure drop box is available for after hours drop off of materials. The office is closed during school holidays.
